The beautiful unique blooms of monkshood grow well in shady areas. Although this plant is beautiful in the garden, one should take care when handling and wear gloves as the plant is poisonous . In rare cases accidental poisonings from contact have occurred although very rare.

Sow: Put seed in zip lock bag into freezer to vernalize for 2 weeks then plant into trays or pots. Start indoors 6-8 weeks before last frost and transplant out after danger of frost has passed
